I bought an aftemarket gas cap for my BN. Looks great. But it doesn't seem to be vented, like they forgot to drill a hole in the middle of it. The result is after running the tractor for awhile, it dies. Opening the cap lets out a big sucking sound and she starts right back up. I can't see anyplace where the tank is vented, so the cap must be defective right?

Take Care

Yes, the cap must be vented. In fact, the original gas caps had vents that plugged up too easily and IH is still replacing them with updated gas caps. An unvented cap can be dangerous too, not just inconvenient.
