Hi-I"m looking at buying a 1939 F-14 Ser.
Number S-153549. I know it"s a late one. This tractor has been untouched in a guy"s shed for the last 20 years. It is free and turns over. This one is on rubber, has original fenders, even the distilate tank in the hood yet. Two things. It has what appears to be factory electric start on it. It looks totally original. How many of these
F-14"s are around. The other question. There is a long lever coming out the side of the rear end/trans area just behind the left brake handle. It looks like it could be a hi/low range trans? I know there were aftermarket overdrives for F-20"s. What was avaliable for F-14"s? Has anyone ever seen an F-14 set up quite like this? How common is a Tractor like this? Thanks for any input!

I agree with John, sounds like a lengthend pto lever. The Heisler overdrives have a lever but they sit up on the "deck" and go though the "dash". The over drives on the f-12's go in front of the transmission. If you want I think I have a pic of mine kicking around somewhere. If that starter is one of the bell housing ones it'll add money, my guess is $400 east coast dollars to what ever the rest of the tractor is worth. If the lights and geneator are orginal are even more. Good Luck

Jason,

If you would e-mail me a picture of your tractor, I'd really appreciate it! I havn't had the 14 running yet to play with that lever-A PTO lever would make sense though. With the electric start and fenders totally original on rubber, what is an F-14 like mine worth in running condition? Thanks Again!

I think that lever is the pto,it may have been made longer as the origianl was very short and awkward. Its alomst a shame that the electric start setup is worth more than the whole tractor is,very rare item for these.Enjoy it!

I've seen a few F14's set up for the addition of a starter - never saw a tractor with one on it so the one you have must have had the electrical system included. Don't know about the lever on the back.
