Hello, I was wondering if anyone new the weight of a 674 diesel as well as a 574. Are these tractors the same except for the horse power rating? Thanks YC

Hi, the 574 and 674 Diesel both had the D239 German Diesel but the 674 had larger rear tires 18.4-30 vs 16.9-28 for 574. The 674 could also have a different speed transmission than the 574. We had a 674 without T/A for a short period of time but it had a slow speed transmission and 2nd gear was to slow and 3rd was to fast for our JD corn harvester. Traded it for 684 with T/A. Neighbor had 574 and turned up injection pump so it was putting out 66 HP on dyno same as our 684.

Therefore 674 maybe a little heavier than 574 due to larger tire size.

My 2 cents

They have the same engines and everything else is the pretty much the same. My book shows the same thing, about 200-400 lbs heavier for the 674. I think the difference in HP comes from the RPM rating. 2200 for the 574 and 2400 for the 674.

since no one has responded I looked at the sites with tractor data and, although vague, it appears the 674 weighs about 200-400# more.
