Oil question...

Hello-

It's me again with another stupid question! ;)

I noticed after running my BN for about 10 minutes, that the oil filter housing was only slightly warm. Is this normal? Or is oil not properly circulating? The gauge needle is on a 90 degree angle under moderate throttle, which has always been normal for this tractor.

Or am I just paranoid?

My opinion is that you are paranoid. It takes up to half an hour or better for an engine to get the oil up to operating temperature. That is why it is so important not to put too heavy a load on an engine until it is warmed up. As a matter of fact if your cooling system is working properly, the oil filter will not get any warmer than the side of the engine block.

My 2 cents
