i am rebuilding an H carb. I the past I have always used the complete kit from IH. This carb was more dirty and leaky and not that worn. So I decided to try the 22$ TSC kit vs the 68 IH kit.

Is any one familiar with this kit? I know its just a basic kit. But, I says in the instructions to replace the choke shaft seal, there is not one in the kit. and the packing for the high speed adjustmet is missing or do they expect me to use this felt thing that they put in there. Or is there just some parts missing?

Also I took apart another H carb and it had a rubber type seal for the high speed screw. I seemed to work better. Does anyone know were I can buy just that seal? I have never had much luck with the packing in the IH kit no matter how careful i am.

You might try to find a fat O-ring to try on the hi-speed screw. I wish I knew of a good source for kits. Often times all I need is a bowl gasket
and can sometimes get those at IH dealer. If a carb is in good shape but just dirty, a bowl gasket and some of the small seals and washers is all you need. The kits contain all kinds of stuff you don't generally need.

Hi lee I sell just a basic kit with gasket and float valve for about 18.00 for an H and about 12.00 for an M. Also to the tsc carb kit the last time I ordered a complete kit from my company it did not come with the packing either. I think the felt goes in the choke shaft . I can get the complete H kit for the H for about$33.00 same as dealer wants 60.00 for. JON

How about a kit for a Farmall C? I got one that the gas just pours through but I don"t know what else is wrong with it.
