The parking brake drops in on it's own while the tractor is moving? That is a very serious problem that will cause major damage if it hasn't already. Describe exactly how it happens. If it was mine, I wouldn't drive it until I got that one figured out. Sounds like you need to take a look at your detents to fix the low range problem. Remove the range transmission cover and see if any of the rollers are missing. While you're in there, you can check for damage to the reverse driven gear from the park lock dropping in. It's the rearmost gear on the top shaft. It really sounds like you need a manual. You'll probably find that your whole shifting linkage needs going through, and a $20 I&T manual will pay for itself. As for the TA, a wild guess would be $2000.

Stu, if it was mine, I'd go over the entire linkage, starting underneath the range transmission cover and working my way up to the lever. Look for anything loose, worn, bent, or otherwise questionable. If in doubt about somthing, replace it. You'll get a good idea how this linkage works and what to look for once you get into it. Basically just try to get good, solid detents under the cover, then try to eliminate all of the slop between the lever and the end of the linkage, then look for anything questionable in your park lock linkage, then ajust the whole thing by the book.
