I had the wife pick up hyd filters for the 560 and she came back with an oval filter the same size as the screen filter I pulled out of the tractor. It has the right size hole to mount up to the suction side of the pump, but it has a big hole with a gasket on the other side. It is not thick enough to fit tight up against the cover that bolts on. I do not think it is the right one. Part # 388080R93

The filter I pulled out has the 2 small round filters inside the oval screen housing.

On top of that the bill has part # 388084R93.

Do I have the right filter????

My dad says the filter you took out is the original; it"s likely that it"s never been changed... The filter you have is the correct one. They changed it to a once-piece unit, but you need an extra bit to get it to fit right.

Carp That is the kind that came out a long time ago but there is a creen with a spring on it that goes in that big hole, should get better flow with the new kind

I guess the fella behind the counter prolly figured the filter had been changed since the 70's. Now all I gotta do is get the screen and spring. :(

Looks like I'm down for the rest of the weekend.

The screen thing they are talking about is a bypass valve for in case the filter gets clogged,it sucks through the screen,it also has a flat spring that holds the whole filter assembly in. I just bought one for about another $12 on top of a new filter. My old one was the old screen type you had.

i agree you have the correct part. also wondering what the oil looked like after you drained it. and how many hours are on your tractor. i bought a 686 4 years ago with 2950 hrs on it. the oil was like chocolate milk. i don't think it was ever changed. i have a 560 D also.

good luck!

Duane
