Well, I finally found it late this afternoon after spending much of the day trying to locate it. It is about one inch long and so faint that I had to move the blade of a screwdriver across it to determine if there really was an indentation. It now has white paint along its length so, hopefully, it will be easier to find in the future. Thanks Jon, Kendall, Jim, John, and Scotty for advising where to look and what to look for. I hope the engineer who decided that this was a good location to place a tiny timing mark was fired before he could create additional problems for Farmall owners. Dan

Back in the '30s, the flywheel was a pretty conventonal place for timing marks.
