I am restoring my first tractor, a 1942 Farmall H. You can check out the tractor and my progress at: http://www.knuckleheadquarters.net/farmall-h.html

(hopefully the link below works)

I have two questions:

1) does anyone recognize the seat? It is not original, but I was wondering if it was standard issue on some other brand of tractor or is it a generic aftermarket tractor seat. Any idea on age?

2) The fuse is missing from my ammeter. What size fuse do I need (standard 6v, positive ground system)?

Thanks for your help.

Tony

It looks like an early Joy-Rider sold by Central Tractor and others. My advice would be to have new cushions made. Kind of a conversation piece!

Looks great so far - but unless you have lots of beer, I'm not allowed to keep company with people that have nicer shops than me (that's just about everyone).

Nice shop, nice tractor - good luck.

Jay

hello. I inherited a property and last week I discovered a tractor in what apears to be the remains of a colapsed shed. when I uncovered it I had a good laugh at the seat it looked so odd. but yours has it as well and your tractor looks the same except the one I have has what at this stage I would say is a steering arm out side the chassis on the left side. (the tractor is only partialy uncovered)

It is aftermarket; had one like it on my 1937 John Deere BN.
