With respect to the above mentioned tractor model, I am in search of aftermarket replacement parts for hood/side doors. Any leads would be much appreciated.

First you need to use the right name Mccormick Deering only made a 15-30 model only the later productions had a increased HP and that was on the tag .

Thank you for taking to the time to respond.

Yes, I knew that the model 22-36 was an upgrade of the 15-30...the same engine was used with increased bore. Many of the engine parts such as the piston rings...valves...spark plug wire sets are not interchangeable. However, the hood/side doors are interchangeable between the two models as was confirmed by Biewer"s Tractor Salvage of Barnesville/Minnesota.

I needed to add my 2 cents worth to this converation string. The hood sheets are not completely interchangeable between the 15-30 and the 22-36. The left side sheet (the manifold side) is different between the two. If you put a 15-30 side sheet on a 22-36 model the side sheet will not close because it will hit the carb, as is extends further away from the engine than the carb on the 15-30 model. That's why there is the large bubbled out area on the 22-36 sheet. The sheet from a 22-36 will fit on a 15-30 but would not be correct. Hope this helps!

Wow! Much gratitude for your knowledgeable info.

I will telephone Biewer"s Tractor Salvage tomorrow morning to pass along your info. Hopefully, they will be able to track down the hood/side doors for a 22-36 model.

Since I live in Canada, the part order must be accurate so that I do not have to absorb any unnecessary return shipping charges for parts which do not properly fit.

It is just like a work of art on display. When one knows that there is a flaw or discrepancy, the appreciation of the art piece diminishes.

It has been a pleasure to cross your path...if the hood/side doors become available, I will post a message on this forum.

I should add that the magneto side panel will only interchange on the later 15-30s, 1928 and 1929. On the earlier 15-30s the hood side sheets were in two pieces. The bottom 5 inches or so were permanently bolted to the radiator, frame, and fire wall. The side panel attached to this small sheet rather than the frame as in the 22-36 type. Just don't want you to get the wrong thing! Either side sheet is hard to find. I have four 15-30s and luckily have side panels for all four.

Much gratitude for your quick response.

No doubt, your reference is Robert Lefever of Peach Bottom/Pennsylvania...717/548-4131. However, I was told that he only manufactures hood/side doors for the model 10-20...perhaps I should contact him by telephone to ascertain which parts are available.

Last I knew no one was making them for the 15-30. It should not be too hard to make your own though.

Not sure if you can get aftermarket parts like that, My dad was lookin for side soors for a 10-20, that my grandpa owned, he couldn't find one anywhere, You might want to check the fence rows, cause thats probably where most the sides ended up. Not sure if cowman would have anything like that, he might drop a line.

Your prompt response is much appreciated.

Using your info, I contacted Biewer"s Tractor Salvage of Barnesville/Minnesota at 218/493-4696.

The chap was so courteous/helpful. Since the model 22-36 was an upgrade of the 15-30, he confirmed that hood/side doors for the 15-30 & 22-36 are interchangeable. He/partner will outsource data and touch bases with me in due course.

Perhaps our paths will cross again...it was a pleasure...if/when parts are located, I will post the good news on this forum!
