For what it’s worth…

I went to the South Dakota state fair this past weekend. There were a number of nice looking restored IH letter series tractors there, a wire-tie baler run with an LB 5HP engine, and other older machinery. What really caught my eye were the IH tractors from one collector in particular. In each one of the glass jar pre-cleaners was a little green JD tractor! I wished I would have had my camera to take a couple of pictures to share with all you red fans.

Were pre-cleaners an optional item on Farmalls and what tractors were they on?

Pre-cleaners were an option on all the farmalls and W series. They are listed in my attachment manuals. They are more common in areas where its really dusty, dry land farming. They are not very availible here in Ontario. I have them on my AV,C,W6,H, and M. Haven't seen one for the cub though. Had a little JD given to me for the M jar, but haven't got the nerve to go buy any green toys for the others, the word might get around that I'm closet green collector.

My apologies to the person that posted this pic on YT a couple of years ago. It was so neat I've used it as a desktop picture.
