I have a TD-6 tractor that I"m having trouble starting. When I bought a few weeks ago, it started just fine, but now when I try to start it it seems like it is getting too much gas and is fouling the plugs. I checked the choke linkage and it is opening. I also checked air cleaner and all looks to be fine. I have the feeling that something is wrong with the carb, and it"s feeding too much gas. I took the carb off, but haven"t taken it apart yet. Does anyone have any experience with this problem? My crawler manual doesn"t cover the carb. It refers to the diesel injection manual for carb info. Unfortunately I don"t have that manual. Any help will be appreciated.

Hi Doug, I've never had this carb, but it sounds like your float may be set too high or may have a pin hole in it causing it to sink. The float valve could be sticking and isn't shutting off
the fuel causing the engine to run rich.

An IH dealer probably has a shop manual covering this tractor. They will give a copy of the rebuild procedure on that carb. Try this toll free number 1-800-732-0017 and have them fax it to you or mail it. You will probably need a carb kit anyway. Good Luck, Hal
