Thanks for sharing the harvest pictures. Some unusual ones in there, and all good. I never saw one of those bale loaders. I had two questions: (perhaps ignorant) are all the balers on the PTO? What happens to all that straw?

Hey little john - glad you enjoyed the pix!

FYI the balers are all PTO-operated. The bale loader (New Holland "Stackcruiser") is an amazing machine to watch in operation. It replaces a dozen or so high school kids doing the backbreaking task of unloading/stacking straw.

I understand most of our straw gets shipped east and downstate to places like the Saratoga race track, to horse farms above NY city etc.
