You can also get a set of hubs from a MH 44 and add aset of tin rims.

Hi Darrell My SM Had duals on it once they took an extra set of rims and welded a complete round section on the rim so it fits into the drop of the tractor rims And then they took I bolts and mounted them on the Rim clamps and used chain binders to hold the together. You May say that sounds like a cob job but it wasnt it was just like a Regular big tractor with snap on duals. JON

If you are like me and you like your singles to be dished out for widest effect (looks better, feels better) and you DO NOT like to be swapping 600 lb tires back and forth, look into the duals with the special rims....I think they clamp on (?)...maybe somebody else can help me out with this. I've never used them but I have seen them.
They look pretty good on the tractor. More cost though, I bet.

Were they just the regular sized tires, like a 13.6 38? IH made duals for an M, they were skinny things that bolted to one cast center on each side. You can see them in an M book.
They are very rare, I"ve only seen one pair.

Darrell, Go to a tractor salvage yard and get another set of regular ol dish wheels and rims just like yours has. Then on your tractor dish in the wheels that will be the insides, and dish out the outsides. put on the rims with tires and there you are.
That is basicilly it without going into a bunch of details that will be obvious once you get into it.
Hope this helps.
Later,
John A.

John is right on the money. In western nebraska there are a few m's dualed up. They did it to stay on top in sandy field's. The ones I saw were on extended axles, you might find at a salvage yard.

Mine are on just as John stated, regular length axles leave a little space between. Helps float the tractor on western Iowa Loess Hills "sugar clay" wheat ground and I never have a traction problem. Dick Davis
