We are in the process of majoring our 39 H. Going back together but can't seem to find any information on torque values for the head. Have found other values but not that. Any help would be appreciated, are using new bolts. Thank You.

IH service manual "Cylinder-head studs are 7/16-inch and nuts should torqued to 70 ft.lb. The sequence for tightening the nuts should begin at the center of the head and then back and forth across the head toward each end." Would start at 30 or 40 ft.lb. and work up in 10 to 15 ft.lb. incerments.

Seed,

Been a long time since I did one, but as I recall they should come in at around 70 ftlbs.

Somebody will correct me if my old memory is going south again.

Allan
