Have to say, That was one fine speach.
When he started to tear up wile talking about meeting a mother who"s son had died in Iraq.
I started to tear up too.
I cant emagine the wheight that one must bear when having to order men to thier possable deaths.
Heck I feel bad when I have to tell a guy he is on call over the holiday weekend.
Good on you GWB. Keep up the good work!!!

Kelly: One item is very clear, politics stimulates as much argument south of the Canada-US border as it does to the north. I remain unenlightened.

The only thing Kerry has remained true to, and stayed the course with so far has been massive tax increases for everyone!!!!! I think he would like to tell you that you are worth so much and you deal with it. All money belongs to the government. Kerry, Kenedy, Boxer, Fienstien, Schumer, and a bunch of thier ilk will tell you this when they think they can get away with it. Saving the best for last the biggest crooks are the clintons. when they are gone we will have a chance to heal.

RTB,

Oh, I don't know. I kinda find this interesting.

I notice that the right, right/center are the folks who aren't saying a whole lot as compared to the screamers out at the fringe.

I would suspect that they will be heard in mass come November to reafirm our president.

I had been thinking the same thing. They keep saying the polls show it a close race to close to say who leads.
Somthing tells me this is going to be a good old fashion butt whoopin.
I dont think its even going to be close.

I agree.

Comparing John Kerry to George Bush is akin to… well, er.... the same as comparing Mrs. Kerry to the First Lady. Quite a contrast, indeed.

In the past few years, the media have always pushed "entertainment" more than actually reporting the news as it should and they have really had a field day with this one claiming what a "close" race this is and making it into a noisy, loud media “event”. Bunk.

The Dems knew going in that they had to come up with a sacrificial lamb for this election and John has proven himself to be a very dispensable pawn in the larger scheme of political gamesmanship. Plus, he just cannot see the darned forest ‘cause all those silly trees are standing in the way. Perfect patsy. An "Oswald" type.

The knowledgeable & political savvy Dems are not touching this election with a 10-foot pole and are quietly watching from the sidelines, as well they should.

Can't help feelin' a bit sorry for young Edwards tho, he seems like a nice sort, but I think his eyes were a bit bigger than his tummy on this one.

No, the sane folks of America just are not going to put this foaming-at-the-mouth Looney Tune into the white house and in charge our well-being, especially at this critical juncture in our history.

Sorry John, this just ‘taint a gonna happen.

Allan

Crocodile tears! The war against Iraq was planned from the beginning of the Bush administration and they falsely used the September 11 attacks to justify it. John Kerry may not be the best choice for a presidential candidate, but he is far superior to the other choice we have-a lying religious fanatic who has diverted attention from the real issue, Al Qaida. The Bush administration has done everything to create the APPEARANCE of security without actually doing anything about creating lasting security. GWB has done everyting he could possibly do to make the US hated and distrusted abroad. I know many Conservatives dismiss this as inconsequential because they are Uber-patriots (nobody else on Earth of value but us Americans), but we live in a world that is complex and interconnected and that is no way to handle foreign policy (as if it were just an extension of West Texas)! Then there is his attack on the environment, letting Enron write administrative policy, tax cuts while expanding the budget in a recession, concentating on lifestyle issues while letting national policy lanquish, provoking war while having avoided participating in war, provoking war without a plan for the peace, being a lapdog of the Saud family, being a lapdog of Halliburton, unimaginative energy policy, vilification of our long term allies, his holier-than-thou attitude, etc. I find George W. Bush to be an embarassment.

I think from the tone of your RE we all can see how you feel.
If I made my decisions based on my feelings I might agree with you. But alas I dont.
If you follow your statements out to thier logical conclusions. You would find that there is no logic to it.

I think that fellow may be just reading from the DNC talking points or else he watched (and believed) the moore movie. He's entitled to his opinions too--ain't this country grand! I bet he doesn't like Sen. Zell Miller D-GA, either....

GWB may stay the course, but from here, it looks like the wrong direction. Kerry does not seem to be a good choice either.

How about a viable candidate, someone that's not a whacko nor totally focused on just winning elections ? They could even have a vision that extends more than a couple years. And no name calling. Sheesh. What a mess.

You are right to some extent, from the heart, I guess in the sense that he does seem to take his job (the war effort) seriously, but how much heart does a politician really have? Bush may want you to think he's a rather dull knife in the cubbard, but he's pretty sharp and not stupid and he's got a lot of smart folks working for him. As for Bush, I don't think he's doing enough for military folks or for middle class folks or poor folk or for keeping jobs and creating jobs in America. I don't think he's doing enough for the Home Boys! He's essentially hanging his re-election on 9/11, Afghanistan and Iraq, the war on terror. That's important but the job demands a much wider scope. We need a president who can juggle more than 1 ball. What about jobs in America? What about the trade deficit (china trade)? National debt? What about tightening our borders? Illegal immigrants? Gas prices? Kerry and his pretty boy running mate don't offer much as an alternative. It looks like it's 4 more years for Bush but I don't think we're going to see much benefit for the common folk struggling to make ends meet here in America. The american dream is getting much more difficult to hang on to now days.

Kelly, Great leaders are those who can and will make the hard choices. Down the pyramid somewhere are those who make popular choices. I believe wholeheartedly in Margaret Thatchers statement that "Those who lead by concensus lack leadership". As I listened to George W"s speech, it impressed me as a "The buck stops here" speech, where he stated his position, and reasons for his decisions, and has held fast to a steady course, with no apologies, regardless of the flack from his detractors. Now we"ll see if Americans appreciate honesty, integrety, consistency, and true leadership which transends party ideology. The other guy"s flip flop methods to please too many people, frankly scare me.

Kelly, Kevin, Paul, Very well said. I listened to W's speech on the radio. I'm proud that he is our president, and equally proud to soldier under his command. The aristocratic senator from Massachusetts has nothing to offer the nation other than his support of Ted Kennedy. This is serous business we are now facing, and it demands a confrontation of reality, not an obsfacation of fantacy. Besides, John Kerry cuts no brush and owns no tractors!

He must be one a them there Yankee Commie Pinko Liberals that march for peace er sumthin. Jist can't have thet now can we folks. you gettum GW. Good on ya, Harley

That's right, Kerry keeps saying he has a plan for security and the war on terror but he never gets to telling us what it is! Bush is smarter. We all know his plan for the war. He tells us all about it. He doesn't have a plan for America at home but then he doesn't go on TV with claims to have a plan either. George just want us all to run scared into a corner thinking he and Cheney are the only guys who can run a war. I'm not comfortable with Kerry. I know what I'll get with George. I know what I won't get also. It's like growing up poor. Ya know what ya got and if that's all you know it ain't so bad. It's only when you start seeing what you could get that things don't set so well.

No offence there Bud. Every one gets to make up thier own mind. If Kerry is for you. Then so be it.
But I must say. I have though about this quite a bit
Other than saying things that are desighned to invoke some emotion. I havent heard a plan.
Now if this was the 1950"s and 1960"s. Maybe he has some thing. But its not. My kids and I need to get though the real world. Not a fantasy world that no longer exsist maybe never did.
SO GWB gets my vote

Hell, if I were a farmer in Iraq, Afghanistan, the Middle East or overseas, I would be damn proud of W.

However, I have to make a living here and I tell you the state of the American farmer ain't something to crow about. My only wish is that someone would pay attention to the big picture. 20 years down the road, America might be safer, but the bill collectors want payment in the here and now....What good is "being safe" if the economy forces you to sell your farm/livelihood at auction?

The economy comes first. I am glad that Iraqis are better off thanks to the American taxpayer, but who is looking out for us?

God Bless America!

I don't farm. No hope for me after my Dad lost nearly all his land and equipment in--1950. I feel for the hardships farmers face, but I really don't think the President has much to do with that. I believe Truman was President in 1950. History has repeated itself ever since farms and banks were started.
