I found a picker with serial number 2bbb. Can anyone tell me what that format would be? As gung-ho I am about IH, it has really thrown me for a loop. Thanks for any help or ideas.

The 2M-HD was a big improvement over the 2M-H. They also had the wider elevator to carry the corn from the snapping rollers to the husking bed. With todays yields I'm not sure the 2M-H could handle the corn with any speed. I've been looking for one of them for a long time and have not had any luck finding one. I think they were a better picker than the 234 and we had both. The 234 was a very dirty operating picker.

This is taxing my memory, I put these together and on the customers tractor in the early days of my employment at a IH dealer in SW Iowa, 2MHD were not made until 1960? and later, only diff was HD pto gear case & 6 husk rollers per side, serial numbers on 2MH started at 501 in 1957, started 1962? with 34011, cant recall what year they ended 63?. Serial number was on frame stamped in a angle and also regular embossed plate riveted on side, cant recall exactly where at, we had to check serial numbers when unloading from rr car. Was a load with a 16 sheller on 560, axles and wheels had to be at extreme width to mount.

This one is definately 2bbb, and there is no argument about it. It confuses the tar right out of me. I think it is really unique, so I am putting extra effort into getting it. Still completely red, original decals, just sitting there for someone to love. Saturday it might be mine. I'll keep you updated.
