Hi, as some of you may know i cracked the live hydraulic pump on my tractor awhile back, brought it into the shop, the mechanic got it running real nice, it needed new points, the other ones were burned out. He put the dist drive on and fiddled with the carb and got it going real nice. The night i picked it up i drove into town and went through the the Tim Hortons drive through. Thats a coffee shop here in canada, I was sitting at the speaker, tractor idled right down, all you could hear was the rain cap tickin, I saw an arm wave out the window to come up, so i went, the lady at the window said she couldn't hear anything, so i just ordered at the window. I think i am the first person to take a tractor through a drive through. Any one else done it? I want to take the 20 through next, its got a Straight pipe!! I also put the M on the dyno, It dynoed at 54.

A friend and myself drove our tractors to school for the last day a couple years ago. About a 15 mile drive but it was fun and boy did our peers think we were nuts (we were the only farmers left in our district)

During one of our local tractor shows we had a break before the pull started. I drove my Super C and another guy drove his JD MT about a mile down the road and went through the ARBY's drive through. Gal said it was the first time they had a tractor come through.

Well if you can drive your tractor to the drive-in why not your horse(pony in my case). I was in middle school, and one Saturday, I rode my Welsh pony to the A&W Drive in.

Does that count?

farmallkid, Spring of 1980. @ Tarleton State University; Stephenville,Texas. One Thur afternoon. I had been laboring on my ol M in tractor class all semester. late april! The ol girl was back together and purring sweetly. Nothing-doing but to make the loop down through campus and let those around see that I had gottten mine back together, and just prior to painting. I came down through campus, @ full throttele, no hood, and letting her scream out of the manifold! Got a lot of looks and Heys!
The process also had to be duplicated, after she got her show clothes, after painting and decals were done. And with a shinney new muffler.
What a blast !
Glad you had fun with yours.
Later,
John A.

Good story!! I too went to TSU, and overhauled a IH 424 Diesel in "82, but I didn"t think of driving it through campus, but wish I did!! Guess you were under the instruction of Ted Ford also?? I did drive Farmall H to high school, before and after painting, but in a small rural community in Texas, that happened quite often.

I also cut the book and had all the same profs.
Graduated in Spring, 1983, Mech. Ag major. I may have met you, if you are the same John Smith from Florence who had a sister named Roberta.
I hung around with some of those Lampasas boys, too.

Later,

Elgin, Tx.

Classic story! I had a friend who was waiting with me in the long line inside Tim Hortons here in Orillia a few years back for quite a while and it just wasn"t moving. He said watch this...he walked outside and up to the drive-thru speaker, placed his order, then sauntered up to the drive thru window, picked up his order and came inside with it. I was still waiting in line.... lol ... should take the old "H" thru Tim"s someday..

1982 - Took Dad"s H to Shopko to buy the new ZZ Top "Eliminator" cassette tape (HAD to have it NOW). Should have seen those city-folk gawk! Should have seen how bad I got my a$$ whooped when I got back home. Couldn"t sit on the H for weeks.
