I just puchased a cub 154. I am having problems getteing it started. 1) It just clicks (solenoid?) 2) If I do get it turning over I get no spark. What should I look for or at to solve this? Any and all help would be welcomed. I only bought this to mow my grass, I hope to get a bigger better tractor for the farm in a year or two.

Check all your battery cable connections including the grounds. Have you verified that the battery is good and fully charged? Will it start if you jump with a good battery?

Thank You bigdog. I found a loose connection. I also found the battery to be bad. I now can get it to start by jumping it with my truck, but even now with a new battery it won't start on it's own. I checked and re-checked all connections and they are clean and tight. It's got me baffled. With the new battery after jump starting it, it will continue to run (I just mowed 2 hours straight), but with the old battery as soon as jumpers were disconnected it would shut down. I'm thinking that it's not charging, does this seem logical to you guys and gals?
Thank You, Kevin
