Picked up 8 little locking tabs for the rod bearings on my 300.
He said " you want a complete set of 8?" I said might as well, they cant cost that much.
I figured 50 cents each would be high.
A buck and a half each!!!
Cough cough cough... Ok Doc you can let go of my testies now...

That seems cheap! in reply to Kelly C, 08-31-2004 05:42:41
Inventory them (if your money is sitting in inventory instead of making money in investments, it's costing $), and then talk to you for 20 minutes to get them ordered or found. 1.50 X 8 =12 bucks....doesn't even pay for the labor. Smile you got off easy.

Take Care
Steve

B as in B and S as in S.
I could understand and accept it for parts that stay on the shelf for quite a bit.
These tabs are used with most Farmall tractors. Many models not just the 300.
Same part number in my 400 and 460 parts book.

IH uses these like best buy does with printer cables.

Best Buy says. Hey your gona need a printer cable with that new printer. Should I throw one in the box?

We say " Oh yea! Thanks throw one in.
$29.95 for the same cord you can get at Target for $6.

IH says. Heres your new set of bearing for that H.
Say you might want to get a new set of locking tabs for that. Want me to throw those in?

I believe CAT Logistics took over parts dist for Case/NH. That added another middleman with their associated profit margin, so the prices went up.

Don't put all the blame on CAT Logistics. They have had this dist. over NH for a while now. No prices like that though.

Broke a tooth in my 350U steering sector. For that 5" long shaft with 3 teeth on the end...$335! I can't think they sell that many, yet the local dealer had one on hand.

Strange thing is that the price doesn"t seem to depend upon the size of the item. I got a rebuilt pressure plate for my SMTA last year, thought considering the price of small stuff that it would be out of reason, was around $100, really makes those little tabs seem expensive.

Hey Kelly - Don't feel bad....I paid the same for a set for my Super H a few weeks ago.

Only consolation is if they carried a JD instead of an IHC part number they probably would have nicked us $3 apiece for 'em!

Hah! That's cheap!! Try buying the tabs for the main bolts. IH wanted $9.00 apiece (C113 engnine) for a piece of 18 gauge with a hole punched in it.
I know this has been discussed alot and many think we should thank IH for continuing to supply these parts. Maybe so, but there are limits to what is reasonable.

You know, Your right. I am very happy that IH supplies these parts. I dont really mind paying a little extra. I paid the buck and a half times 8.

Just dont pitch a fit when I go buy a clutch off ebay for $100 less than IH. Hey you made your extra off the ticky tack parts.

I dont mind paying the $40 for IH 2150 paint. That stuff is great. It sticks to every thing dont really have to prime the things. And covers in one coat.
Cheap Farm Fleet paint is $14 but you HAVE to prime and needs 2 coats to cover.
End up paying more.
Best value for a working paint job. Dont know about the super duper shiny ones though.

how did you get ih paint to cover with one coat ? the last time i used it , must of took 5-6 coats with out the reducer. when i tell people i had to use it with out reducer, they always ask how can you spray that thick stuff. THICK ?!?! more like red colored water. i dont want to start a fight with you, but how can that be possible ?

Its called dirt cheap spray gun. The 19.95 ones.
Use them once then trow them away. I hate cleaning spray guns.
Here is one coat of IH 2150 and no primer.
