I am trying to figure out what year is this F20 I found. I need to know where to look for a serial number or ID plate. I"ve been all over it and couldn"t find a plate.

There should be a metal tag under the gas tank on the back side of the tool box. The serial number is also stamped on the top of that heavy rectangular rail on left side of the engine. Its either on the front or the back of that rail.

I found the rivets for where the tag should have been but the tag is gone. The only number I have found so far was stamped on the top of the left frame rail ahead of the radiator. 68451 which looks like its a 1936. Based on the looks of the tractor, its believable.

Frank, If you found the number in front of the radiator and it had no letters in front of it, what you have is a Farmall Regular and not an F-20. At least you have the frame of a Regular. The frame numbers on an F-20 were stamped on the left frame rail between the engine bell housing and the transmission, and they always had FA as the letter prefix. The Regulars were stamped where you mention and never had a letter prefix. What type of steering gears do you have? Are they open gears or are they enclosed within a casting?
