This is my Farmall H pulling tractor. Sure, dont mind talking about it, it has a few good stories to tell!! LOL!! I do build my parts, engines, transmission parts, this one took me 2 years to build, this is the triple digit HP tractor I spoke of, at 540 pto rpm. I build and design piston kits for performance, farm or play, and it is not a high dolar conversion either, just depends on how many Hp one wants it to have. ChadS

I've been surfing the web for a friend of mine. We been trying to figure out how much a tractor that she has is worth. It is a 1958 FARMALL MCORMICK 350 L. You seem like someone who would know alot about her tractor. If it's not to much trouble could you give us some guidance on how to figure this out? Thank you

Very Cool Chad, I see below you say why not go with the 350 kit. 3 9/16 or 3 5/8. Do you mean go with the block as well I was under the asumption that 3 7/16 was as far as you can go with a stock 152 block. JON

It depends on the sleeves, a 3-3/8 H sleeves, that could be bored to 3-9/16 they have to be the thick walled sleeve, and not the thin ones. It would be easier to use a Super H -350 block, to use the 350 sleeves, You would have to bore the H block to fit the 350 sleeves. Best way to tell how far you can bore the sleeve, is to find the sleeve specs, and note the outside diameter of the sleeve, That is the bore of the actual block as well, Just depends on what you want to do with your old H. Good possibility, that a Super H kit, would slide right in your H block with out boring the block, they are a thin walled sleeve, 3-9/16 bore. I would have to double check, but I think the block bore is 3-5/8 with no sleeves in the block, yes, the 300-350 block would be larger than the H with no sleeves also. Chad

So If I went with the 300 or 350 block I would have to get every thing with it I take it nothing would interchange from My H with the 3 7/16 sleves that I have now. Let me tell you what I have now I have an worn out H with 3 7/16 M&W pistons I have a brand new set of 3 7/16 M&W sleves. The crank in my H has already been turned 30 or 40 thousands cant remember I re ringed it and had the head done about 4 years ago. I have another H block that the oil was full of antifreeze I have not found any cracks as of yet. It also has 3 7/16 pistons but flat tops in it now. I have a SM Also and one more H motor that has been sitting outside for who knows how long with no head I have not measured this one but it has High domed pistons. What I would like to do is build a sleeper that I can run in the 4500 or 5000 class. I have a very limited fund situation I try to buy a few parts as I sell a few of my mags. Any Ideas. JON

The H crank will fit the 350 block, use the H mains in the 350 block, the block journal is the same diameter as the H, the 350 crank has bigger mains over the H, it is in the crank and bearings, not the block. All the other parts are interchangable too, the sleeves are not the same, different diameters. As fro a recipe,, I would go for the 350 kit in the H block, I would not think you would have alot of $$ in this, and you would have a good upgrade in HP over the H 152. If you intend on still farming with it, you will be fine, just make sure you have the block magnafluxed and pressure checked for cracks. That is good for a stock stronger short block, in an H, with a stock 8043d head casting, looking at 43 hp. Now that is good, but, there is alot more hiding in the carb, governor, and distributor. A 350 style engine, with a 150+ compression tuned on the dyno, will be 45-48 hp, Mill the head a bit, and more is possible. Chad
