Can I put a model A carb on a Super A?

I have a '57 Super A with a Carter carburator that is still giving me trouble even after rebuilding, several re-adjustments and lots of bad words. A friend of mine gave me a Zenith carb from a Super A-1 (same carb as is on a regular A). Does anyone know if I can use this model A Zenith on my SA, or am I asking for trouble? Thanks in advance for your input.

The Super A-1 has a C123 engine and the Super A has a C113 engine. While the carbs look the same they have some different jets. This will not cause you any problem. Just put it on and you are good to GO.

I agree with Scotty. Zenith is my preference also. Yes, it will fit and work, but you need to check your serial number because 54 was the last Super A.

Thanks for the replies. Merlin, you are correct, I made a boo-boo on my original note. In fact my SA is a 1950 model.

Slappy, In my opinion the Zenith carb is the better of the two. I have a Zenith on my A and my Super A. Should be no problem.

As long as all of the linkages and gas fittings are the same then there shouldn't be any problem with it. It is the same engine.
