I am restoring the cultivators on my 1949 Super A, however I am having trouble locating what my dad always called the cultivator shovels that bolted onto the shanks. The holes in my shanks are 2-1/4" apart and every place I have checked the holes in the shovels are 2" apart. I checked at the Case IH dealer today, also no luck. Any ideas as always would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike

After reading Reddog"s post, I went out and looked at the cultivators on my Super A. All the "shovels" had holes 2" apart. The shanks has holes that are slotted. The top hole is 1 3/8" long and bottom hole is 1 1/8" long with 1/2" of metal between holes. That should let any shovel fit on the shank. Shanks are fairly inexpensive, so you may consider getting different shanks.

I would check at your local farmers Co-op or tractor supply, maybe even hardware stores.
