I just bought an old International Farmall, it's looks like a 240-. Is there a way to determine the exact model of the tractor?

there are photos of 240 farmalls in the tractor photo section here on the left column (do a search), although the first one has a customized hood, and the second one listed is a 230. compare yours to the last 2 in the listing if you want to see a stock 240 farmall.

In the unlikely event that both the model emblems AND the serial number tag have been removed: Look at it, and compare it with photos of known tractors.

Why/how anyone removes the serial number tag is beyond me, unless it"s stolen.

Is there a website to do a search on the serial#?
