Well I didn't think that I would ever do it but I bought a Green One. I quess you will disown me and not let post here anymore. I guy I work with and I were talking and I told him that since I finished the Farmall B I would have to find a new project. He told me he had a John Deere B he would sell me . Well it was too good of a deal to pass up so I bought it. He threw in a # 5 sickle bar mower that is already restored. So all I have to do is repaint the B. Well I guess I will still will have questions for all of you. Thanks Steve.

Mark,

It is kinda a Blonde, Brunette, Redhead thing.

Just 'cause you are stuck on one, doesn't mean the others aren't just as nice too. :>)

Been trying to talk my self into buying a old JD myself.
The only reason I havent is. All my tractors need a job or a least some thing they can do.
Havent figured out any thing you can do with a green one yet. Other than a costly yard ornament.

Just kidding I would like to get a B to hook to my #5 mower for clipping some places I wont take my haybine.

Disown you?

Whoa Hey!! I'm as envious as a gum-chewing, high school girl who didn't make the cheer-leading cut.

Where are you guys finding these old things? NC just bought a real nice restored G too.

Everytime I spot one, the owner acts like I'm trying to steal his wife or somptin'.

Ole Rusty is just a ribbin' ya a little. That B and the #5 is one heck of a sweet little combination.

What year is the B? You didn't luck out and get a hand-cranked unstyled did you?

Good job! You gotta get us some pictures.

Allan

I'm not sure of the year yet but I now it it a early 1950's. I am planning on going after it the weekend so I will fill you in on all the details when I get it home. He also has all the manuals for the B and one for the mower. He is also cleaning all the old gas out of it so I can get it running when I pick it up . I will keep you posted. Steve

Nothing wrong with green but you need to trade that JD B for a Farmall H and then put the #5 on the H. It will make a very good combination. Oh well, I guess you can keep the green tractor if you want, we won"t disown you.
