I am looking for a pitman arm to repair the steering on a Farmall A. I think it is a 1948 or so, with a tapered and keyed shaft. Anybody got any ideas?

Rusty

Thanks guys. Jon, the arm I have now came from ebay, but it turned out to be the wrong shaft configuration. It has square hole instead of the tapered round that I need. Might be a home-brew from the looks of it.

Square hole was the earlier design. Both the shaft and arm changed (ovbiously). If your tractor is a '48. it probably started out with the square hole.

Thanks for the info Jim. My tractor is an "A" with elect. start and that's about all I can be sure of. The guy I got it from is where I got the '48 figure. I guess I've got a good pitman arm for a square steering shaft Farmall if ennybody needs one:) Thanks again.
