I want to set the drawbar on my Farmall H to a correct height. I know that it is adjustable (Up and down) for different equipment. Is there an "ideal specification" measurement from the drawbar top to say the PTO shaft or drawbar top to the ground? Thanks!!

The correct height is determined by the implement you are using. For general use I like to set mine so that it appears level with the rest of the tractor.

I can't imagine anyone running it other than level. Seems like it would put a bind on everything.

You ever heard of this in all your travels?

I bought an H a few years ago that had the drawbar adjusted to its highest position, I haven"t the foggiest notion why. The previous owner knew very little about what a tractor should be used for. He had even managed somehow to bend the swinging drawbar into a semi-horseshoe shape. I bought the tractor cheap, and only because somehow or other it had the c-164 engine.
