Farmall 560 gas, possible purchase questions

I'm looking at a 560 locally and am not familiar with them so have a few questions. It is a narrow front with decent rubber and everything seems in good shape on it. The only questions I have are, what exactly is the TA and how does it work? The brakes don't seem to work as well as I'd like, how hard are they to work on? The last question makes me feel kinda stupid but I still need to know, did this tractor come with a 3-point or are they all fast hitch? How can I tell the difference? It looks kinda funny but it does look like all the parts are there to hook up 3-point attachments. I have some pics if needed. Are there any common problems I should be looking for? They want $2750 for it. Does that seem reasonable? Thanks for any help.

Kevin, to operate the TA, while going forward, simple apply a steady pull to the lever and the TA will take hold. Reverse the process to get out of TA mode. Don't use the clutch. I have a 340 with working TA and really like it. Good styling to the tractors, I think. Good luck.

$2750 is not necessarily too high if everything works, INCLUDING the TA. It gives two speeds in each gear, designed so that ground speed could be reduced and power increased in "hard places" without clutching. Most have either been repaired, or do not work, so check it out. They will work for years if used properly. The 560 either came with fast hitch or a drawbar. There are kits to convert fast hitch to 3-point, or if it came with no hitch, a 3-point could have been added. Fast hitch is bolted to the rear end housing, aftermarket 3-points are usually bolted to the axle housings. The brakes are easy to work on, replacement disks are readily available, but in some cases, the metal parts the disks expand against need to be resurfaced or replaced. People either love 560's or hate them, the gas version burns a lot of fuel.
