I just bought a new manifold from OEM tractor parts. It's a made in the USA one. The old one was welded all up. This new one has a large bore that looks like maybe a muffler just jams into the end of it. I'm not familiar enough to know. I do know my current muffler isn't going to work, so I guess it's more dollars.

Anybody know how it all works?

Take Care
Steve

The threaded exhaust pipe sure is handy. I use to have to unscrew the muffler in order to get my SA into the garage. I've since had new doors installed that open higher so dont have to do that anymore. Might want to put some antiseize on the threads. If you havent already installed the manifold, this would be a good time to paint it with high temp manifold paint. The stuff I used required baking in the oven after drying. It really looks good. Better do the baking while the Mrs. is away.

Thanks Guys....it is threaded. I just couldn't imagine that was the way it was supposed to work. This board is just awesome. On my way to get some pipe.

Take Care

Steve, Off the top of my head, I think you should have 1 1/2"- 11 1/2 NPT thread in exhaust outlet of manifold. You will need a short length of black pipe about 8" long with that thread on one end to screw into your manifold and your muffler will slip over that pipe and then use a muffler clamp to fasten them. The pipe OD is about 1.900 Hope this helps.
