Hello,

Well, she'll start, and run (no power) on just 1&4. I checked and cleaned the 2&3 plugs (smelled gasoline), wire tested ok. What might the weak link be? Why just 2&3??

Thanks

if your firing order is right and getting spark chech compression you might have blown a head gasket that is common problem when 2&3 wont fire right

You might try doing a compression test.

You might want to check for carbon tracks in the distributor cap. It may have a crack in it.

Be sure the plugs, wires, and distributer cap are ok. Then make sure the distributer cam, etc are not worn and/or loose. The points might open on 1 and 4, but not on 2 and 3. Then check the valve clearance, although it would have to be way off for that problem to occur. Beyond that, I don't know.

I will check the points, maybe I have them too tight.

0.020 -- should be the same on all four sides of the cam.

Try swapping plugs and wires around, see if the miss follows. Other than that, corrosion in the distributor cap terminals, or stuck valves? Sure you've got the firing order right?

I'll try the moving the wires and plugs and see if I can eliminate any of them.
