what size of disk was used with an H. i have an opportunity at a couple of old disks, non hydraulic, and was wanting to know what it could handle. they are an 8' and 10' tandems.

10 ft was common behind an M unless it was souped up a little, then maybe an 11 or 12 ft depending on blade spacing. typical for H's were 7 ft, so You should be able to pull the 8, just probably a gear slower than would be optimal. In order for discs to work well You have to pull them fairly fast, 4 to 4-1/2 mph minimum. (third gear) Faster is better because they throw dirt better and leave a smoother surface. It IS possible to pull them too fast and cause ridging with the rear gangs, but You sure won't have that problem.

I pull a #37 IH wheel disk with the H,it is 9.5 feet and it works it pretty hard but it pulls it. I have been told that is to much for it. I would say an 8 footer would be fine.

If you have high compression pistons in your H, the 8' would be plenty.
