how do you remove the shaft at the sector on a sup c? appears that someone has welded on mine where i think there should be cross pin.

I have a BN, and when it came time to remove the worm gear I thought for sure the shaft was welded to the U-joint. After a through steel brushing, I saw the pin. They use a solid steel pin, instead of a roll pin, so it"s very difficult to notice it.

found a end of a roll pin on opposite side from weld. plan to drill thru it then drill larger thru weld to cut it loose.

If the weld on the joint can be ground off that might better. If you cut the shaft, you will have to buy another one, but cutting may the simplest

If the u-joint has been welded to the out-put shaft of the steering sector your only answer is saw it off as the worm has to go out forward.
