I recently purchased a Super C and the brakes are siezed inside and do not work at all. If I remove the outside housing, is that assembly holding trans oil behind or can I just remove and service it without concern. Also it came with a C293 plow (quite nice) What is the plow worth? I am considering selling it. Thanks

Wayland,

Where are you located? I am in eastern Nebraska and am in the market for a mounted plow. I have a regular C but if memory serves me right it will work on my tractor. If not them I am sure that somebody will straighten us out.

Hi, I am in Central Illinois in East Peoria, right next to the interstate. I do not see why this unit would not fit your C. It has many pieces. I have an owners manual with it that shows where it all goes. I do not think you would be disappointed with it. What is a fair price for this unit? I have been asking around... Let me know if you are interested. Thanks wayland

Remove the outer cover which is also the outer plate and you will find the first brake disc, then the actuater, and then the second brake disc. The last thing is the inter plate which has the shaft seal. The brake system should be dry unless the seal is leaking. The inter plate is a press fit with an O-ring into the transmission. You will find notches to use a wedge tool to separate it from the transmission. If the seal is not leaking you will not need to remove the inter plate.

GOOD LUCK

Go ahead and remove the bolts that go around the cover. And unscrew the adjuster. It's a contained unit. The actuators and ball berrings are probably caked up with gunk.

Transmission/differential oil is held back by a seal behind the brake housing in the transmission case. Probably needs to be replaced.
