Hello-

As most of you already know from all my annoying posts, I have a BN. ;)

What is required to get to the steering worm gear oil seal? I've taken the bearing/gear assembly out of the cast iron steering assembly. The bearings, gear, etc are going to have to come off, correct? How tightly are they pressed on?

Thanks for any tips.

Once the worm is removed the seal should push out easy.

I think we're talking about two different things.

That seal I got out fairly easily, but the one I mean is on the shaft that goes to the front axle.

According to the diagrams, it's beneath the bearing, gear and a few other things.
