I am looking for a tractor about the size of an 806 to work my small farm with? I found a 1967, 1 owner 806 Deisel. The tractor is all original with 6300 hours and never been messed with. It still has the original paint, but a little rusty. The engine has never been overhauled,it has only 1 minor oil leak. The wide front end has been welded on as many have. It only needs minor things such as: servicing, a few smaller peices of sheet metal, tie rod ends, and a water temp. guage. The tires are not new, but still have a lot of tread. It has been shed kept for most of it's life. It runs and drives good. The tractor looks like it just needs the parts I mentioned, a good cleaning up, and a little TLC! They are asking $3,800 for it. Is it worth the money?

Thanks, Simp

Likewise, I think it is a good deal. One thing I can tell you is that fixing your temperature gauge is not as simple as you might think. It is a mechanical type of gauge where the sending unit and gauge are connected to each other with a cable (like a speedometer cable). I looked into replacing this at one time and I found out that you have to buy the whole gauge cluster which includes fuel gauge and temp gauge. Cost is about $140.
