Don't know the exact height, probably 1.5-2 inches, I don't have one I can measure. The C gas tank has very little clearance above the hydraulic reservoir. The Super A1 and the Super C have the C123 engine instead of the C113, and also have water pumps and taller radiators -- Thus the grille is taller to accomodate the radiator, and the hood and gas tank were raised to line up with the grille.

Guy Fay's book says that the Super C radiator was 1 1/2" taller than a C. I think that's about the distance between the tank and hydraulics. Changing the gas tank wouldn't have done anything b/c I believe they are the same tank.

Yex, same tank, but the brackets which are welded to the tank are longer so the tank sits up higher. So if you consider the brackets part of the tank, not the same.
