I am wanting to know the value of a H that I restored. The engine has new fire crater pistons, rings, and bearings and the head has had a valve job. I went through the rearend and checked all of the gears and bearings for wear and replaced those that needed it. The tires are in good shape with a few cracks. I have around $1,300 in the tractor. It is located in Iowa. How much should I be able to get out of it?Thanks, Adam

Adam-
I love my Farmalls. But one lesson I learned is that you can buy an H or an M for around $1000.00 and put $1500.00 into and you don't end up with a $3500.00 tractor. Rather, you probably have a nice $1800.00 tractor. Again, I'm not trying to start any trouble here but that's the way the values of H's and M's seem to shake out, around here anyway. I know a guy nearby who had a totally redone H except for the paint; a real sound machine and a good value for the $1500.00 he was asking. He sold it for $1100.00. I'm hoping that what nebraska cowman says below about the future value of H's but right now, they are all over the place either being used or sitting in fields or behind barns.

My $.02

well, if you were in Upper Michigan you would be lucky to get 1000 out of it,, I just bought a nice original H with its original loader for 500. It runs perfect and has decent tires,. They just arent worth anything around here, H before this one cost me 100 (one hundred) bucks and has been my main tractor since I bought it...good luck...Jim

Unless you need the cash I would park it and leave it a few years. I am buying all the Hs I can find. I believe you will see nice ones selling for $4000 - $5000 in a few years.

Pretty much EVERYTHING on my H is new/rebuilt and I can't get $2000 out of it. Of course, if I straightened the tin and painted it I might get that.

H's just aren't worth much these days...

Since it is not a complete restoration, no more than $2000.
