Hopefully I wont upset anyone here for posting this! But all you Farmall tractor mechanics need to eat to keep your strength up!
Anyway, you need to season the chicken to your liking. Get a can of your favorite beer, pop top, and lower chicken over the can, butt first, place on your grill over tinfoil to catch juices. Little bit of a trick to get the bird not to tip over! Cook on low to medium heat, big chicken, big can of beer, medium chicken, regular can. Get a big can for the cook!

Farmallkid, Your probablly not old enough to remember Jimmy Carter former US president. Anyway he had a brother Billy who loved to drink beer! Well they came out with a beer in honor of him, I dont think it is brewed any longer.

Also, plug the neck with a potato or onion to keep it extra moist.

Yep - beer can chicken is awesome!

And it's easy to make. I also rub seasoning underneath the skin (leaving the skin on the chicken though) and put spices into the beer can as well as up inside the chicken.

I even have a beer can chicken cookbook - this one: Link

I've heard an addition to this recipe. The can of beer has to be exactly 2/3 full. Drink the first 1/3. If it's less than 2/3, finish the beer and start with another. Continue this process until you get a can that is exactly 2/3 full.

Brat are also good boiled in beer first and put them on the grill.

A guy in Baton Rouge told me about this one years ago, he called it "Drunken Chicken". Never did try it, sounds good though!
