I don't have my reference books handy, but your engine serial number should match the number that was on the metal plate, depending on what year it was built, early years numbers didn't match on some models. Should be on the right side of the block.

Good Luck

Check casting numbers. There will be dates on most of the castings. This will give you a very close date of when your tractor was assembled. You will see a number like .8.4.I. which means that casting was made on August 4, 1939. You may have another casting dated .10.25.I. which means that casting was made on October 25, 1939. This will give you a date of 1939 for your H. Each letter of the alphabet stands for a year like I=1939, J=1940, K=1941,..... T=1950 and so on. The period at the ends and between the numbers and letters will look like a screw that is molded into the casting. When the wooden patterns were made, these lables were screwed to them and are cast into the castings. A good place to look is the axle housings and transmission housing. If they all all close to the same date, you should have a very close date that your tractor was built. If one of these dates is way off from the rest it may mean that particular casting has been replaced. Good Luck.

look on the main castings (rear end housing, transmissin cover, etc) for a series such as 7-14-K, or 6-20-R, or any other 3 place series like this. The first # is the month, the second is the day, and the third LETTER is a code for the year. If you find several with the same year code (letter), post them on here. Someone will be able to tell you about when your H was made.
