My 706 has started leaking hydraulic fluid out of the column under the steering wheel. Got bad last weekend. Anyone "Steer" me in the right direction?

The two lines under there can rub together and wear holes in each other. We had the same thing happen a few months back on the 756.

If you look up in there, you can generally figure out which line is leaking. Take it out (might need some finesse) and you'll see where it's worn through. My Dad used the torch and some brazing rod to fill the hole in and it was as good as new. A short piece of rubber hose, slit, slipped over one line and shoved up in between where the lines rub cures the problem forever.

I mean it is coming out right below the area where the steering wheel bolts down. I was wondering if there is a seal or something right under there that can be serviced without pulling the steering shaft, etc.

Get a A47038 seal kit from a CNH dealer, its the seal right under steering wheel, common failure on this tractor series, it has instructions in pkg on installation.

Sounds like your hand pump needs a rebuild. Could always just be a leaky connection, take off some tin and have a look!
