My 364 diesel has a steering cylinder that is leaking bad and needs a rebuild kit. It, unlike the 444, has a steering cylinder kind of parallel with the tractor on the left side. Are kit's available and simple enough to install? It has a "weep" hole that leaks fluid bad after it's run among other leaks. I'm assuming a rebuild kit would consists of seals, piston rings, etc? Power steering works good but this leak is too bad to put up with. Any of you rebuilt one of these?

364 steering cyl weeper; Until the permanent fix is in can you ether clean a low point and make a JB Weld drip point with #12 copper wire to lead the drip(s). Next JB weld a retainer hook for a small catch can under the copper wire drip feature. As long as your JD friends don't see it it should be good until the real fix is in.
Good luck and may all you drips be little ones.

I have one on a 354, same deal. Haven't yet looked for a repair kit. If you find one please post source. Check with IH dealer. 354, 364, same cylinder I believe.

Well, my tractor is literally torn to pieces. I am rebuilding it. Uhh, er, let me re-phrase that. It's a project on hold and in wood shipping boxes right now as I am moving to GA. It was a parts tractor I got in return for some tractor work rendered. I've rebuilt much of it and painted all the piece parts. I've re-built the entire hydraulic housing, steering box, rear axle assemblies. Painted the wheels and new tires. I've not done the hydraulic pump, steering cylinder, or the engine. I'll get to those. That's about it. All the rest is ready for assembly. All in good time. The cylinder looks to be a bit involved with many small pieces and parts. Not to worry, just takes more time and effort ($$$). I don't know if it leaks but if I assume it doesn't, it probably will, so I'll just re-build it.
