I saw an IH power unit tonight, and could not tell exactly what it was. The Serial number on the chasis is an IH Power Unit 64HTC2882.

No other serial plates on the engine (I could not see anything on the engine itself...) But the engine seems to be an IH 4 cyl flathead (IH cast into the side). If someone could let me know more info on this, I would appreciate it! Thanks, Don(PA)

That was great info, guys - Thanks. It did have a Cub engine on it. Good to know it was from a 64 HarvestorThresher. It is now residing in one of the local IH garages, and I am sure will make its debut at some of the shows next year! Best regards - Don

hi. I asked the very same question when I bought mine like that. I was told that it came off of a model 64 harvester thresher, that's what 64HT means. I believe the engine is a C-113, the same as a Farmall A. Hope I could be of help, Darin

But in this case, Don specificly said it was a flathead engine. That means it is likely a Cub C-60 engine. I think both were used on #64s.

Its a C60 4 cyl engine by IH that was originally from a 64 combine, (64 model not year), the plate tells me that HT meant Harvester Thresher then serial number, I cannot determine accurately the exact year but its in the late 40 or early 50. Its the same engine used in Cubs & LoBoys. Harvester Thresher was name for combine by IH in those days.

Cub engine from 64 Harvester Thersher (combine) from early 50's. I think 64HT came out in 1951 or 1952 with c-60 Cub engine, not in the 1940's. Previous same size model was 62HT which used a Continental Y69 engine.

mine is not a flathead c-60 but a c-113 and the tag does say 64HT on it, Darin
