I need to change generator belt on my super c. Anyone got a trick for getting the new one on? The broken old was easy to get off:)
How do you get to the big fan nut, or is there a better way?
Thanks,
WI Moose

Do it the way HAAS says as you have to take the fan belt off to get the gen belt on.

Don't try to get a wrench on the nut on the back side of the bracket. You will just make a mess. Loosen the shaft by putting a wrench on the hex on the front side of the bracket. Thats between the hub and the bracket. Make sure you use an open end wrench of the correct size (not a crescent wrench) so as not to round off the hex on the shaft. The nut on the back side is in a slot that keeps it from turning. Should only take about a half turn of the shaft to make things loose enough for the fan assembly to drop down.

Step back and take a deep breath. You loosen the fan with an open end wrench just behind the pully in front of the mounting housing. The housing acts as a wrench on the nut and you turn the shaft of the fan.

Enjoy your SC

No, I have to get a larger belt off in front of the gen. belt, and I don't think I can get that belt off without lowering the fan, which has the large nut with very little clearance between block and bracket. It looks like an offset box wrench would be the tool, but I don't have one that big. I'm hoping I'm seeing this the hard way, and someone knows a better way.
