The wife has been bugging me to get her little arena in shape, she likes to ride her horses around big cans and poles.

I started by plowing the area with the Super A. It was pulling beautiful and sounding good, got the job done in a little over an hour, all told. I was kind of disappointed when I put her back in the barn.

Well, then I went to the neighbors to borrow his disk, backed up the B414 and started hooking up. It is kind of tight where he had the disk, so I reached down to give it a little scoot over.

My hand hit something soft and I got an electric shock up my arm. Not being totally stupid, I let go of whatever it was that had bit me, wondering what in the world there was electrical on this disk! That's when I see the yellow jackets.

Two of them were working over my index and middle finger right on the tips. Then my arm lit up and I see 10 to 15 on my forearm, then the jolt hit my neck and face. Yeehaw! I reinvented break dancing!

Course, I'm wearing short and tee shirt, so I pretty much got it everywhere. WELL, now I'm out of range and just get mad. Got my towel off the tractor seat and went to popping them out of the air, even got the nest.

Anyway, I got the arena disked up, flat as a pancake, soft and fluffy. The horses roll, the cats make it their outhouse, the wife is happy, the stings don't hurt anymore. Life is good.

Ouch!!! But as long as you're ok, and happy now, guess all's well that ends well. Did you get them all? Or are you thinkin about goin back in there with a .410 and showin them bees who's boss? Make sure it's a pump if you do, they keep comin back for more. Yellow jackets? Yeeeeouuuch.

Why waste your time with a .410 when you can use a 10 gauge?

Like having a bad dream isn't it ? I'm glad that it wasn't me as i'm allergic to bees, and would likely be on a slab now. My dad has a Farmall A, and what a great machine to drive! I have a chance to get a Super A with cultivators & mower for $1,500 Cdn, but don't know if I really can afford it right now. Oh well, maybe next year. ---Jeff
