I was given a shield for my '44 M. It has three holes for mounting. One on top (outside) and two on the (inside) left and right. The top and right align with the holes on the PTO housing but nothing on the left. Is there a two bolt version of this shield or am I just confused as usual? Thanks in advance

Well I think the Ms are the same as the Hs which would mean 3 bolts to attach. It's common for the top piece of the mounting triangle to be broken because it's not very well supported back there. If one were to back up into something with the shield, that part would go. I'd look again. Might the hole be covered with dirt and grease? Sometimes the shields get bent so the holes on the tangs pointing inside on the shield don't line up with their mount holes. I can't imagine the left side of the mounting triangle breaking off.

Thanks Dave, after your response I looked closer and guess what, the left side of the PTO housing is cracked off. Amazing what a paint job will hide. I guess I am in the market for a new housing... Mark
