I have a question about intstalling new mesh in the grill of a Farmall M. I can see how the small tabs work, but are the larger tabs that run up and down the verticle bars seem to be welded or crimped shut or something? I can't get them spread apart. Any help would be great. Thank You!!

Those clips are welded on. I cut the screen away from them and leave them. When I install the new screen I use a clamp type vice grip plyers with 3" jaws to form the screen around the rib and then use JB Weld to attach the screen to the ribs, leaving the plyers in place until the JB is hard. The screen is to light to weld successfully.

Good Luck

Thats what I was think of(J.B.weld) Do you paint you grill then put the new mesh in or do you put it in then paint everything? I wanted to leave the mesh its natural color and I am wondering if the J.B.weld will bond to something that has been painted?

We had the same problem on our Super mta. We streched the screen out and tacked it on with a welder. Just make sure you have it turned down enough. Test it on a piece of simler metal.
