After removing the head on my A, I noticed some crud in the coolant passages around the cylinders. How do you loosen the crud and get it out so that it doesn't end up in the radiator?
Or should I ignore it as it isn't all that bad?
Thanks in advance.

Ron, The Farmall A has wet sleeves, so if you take the sleeves out you can clean out the whole inside of the block. I had a Super C that when I pulled the sleeves I found all kinds of sludge and even a rag in the block. I took off the oil pan and flushed all the sludge and dirt out. I then replaced the o-ring seals on the sleeves and reinstalled them, since the engine had been recently rebuilt (by a bad mechanic). Since then on my Farmall B I recently finished, I completely stripped everything off the block and had the block hot dipped at the local NAPA shop. That really comes out nice (almost like new). I'm faced with the same problem. In addition to rust in the water and partially plugged ports. the previous owner used non dergent oil. I'm currently dismantling the engine and plan to boil it to remove the rust and grease. Sounds like a lot of work but I want to be sure I have a good engine when I'm done.
