We have two nesting pairs of Great Horned Owls within a half mile radius of the homestead. We don't have a lot of skunks because these owls eat them like popcorn.

If you can't get the local wildlife people to help you with getting some owls, there is always this tried and true method of varmint control:

6 pack and a 12 gauge.

Haven't tried this on skunks, but some raccoons that kept finding ways into my barn discovered a case of de-con rat poison, and had a party. The raccoon population went WAY down. Unfortunately, one of them died in the wall of the barn and the place reeked for a month. You might try some rat poison if you have adequate ventilation.

Try exlax they eat it like candy and when it kicks in they leave not wanting to get into anything like that again.

I'd be careful about shooting a skunk, becuase when you kill them, their muscles, umm...shall we say...relax? All of the stink gets let out; no more skunk, but boy do they leave a legacy!

If they are digging up your lawn for grubs you will need to kill the grubs to dump the skunks.
