What type of oil should I run in my 1945 Farmall A. I have been told all types 30W 10W - 30 15W - 40 what one is right? Also what brand of oil should I use? Thank you

I would start out with 20W30 and see if the tractor uses/looses oil. If the tractor uses oil switch up to straight 30W.

Brand of oil - your choice. I buy motor oil, gear, and hydraulic oil in 2 1/2 gallon containers from the local farmers supply.

The cheapest name brand oil, priced by the quart, is from the dollar stores.

I tell people to just use whatever they run in their car. todays oils are made much better than what was available 50 years ago.

Cowman: And that is good advice, no point in having two types of oil around. With two oils, sooner or later someone uses the wrong one.
